Match Report: Aduana Stars brighten their chances of winning the league by beating Hearts of Oak 2-0 in Accra

Hearts of Oak suffered a 2-0 beatings to league leaders Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium in their Match Day 18 encounter of the Ghana Premier League.

Two goals from Isaac Mintah cemented Aduana Stars’ position atop the league table as they further widen the gap from the second place.

The first half was a a dingdong affairs as both teams had a command and drive when in possession to get the early goal but all efforts to score were not accurate enough to find the net.

Linda Mtange and Gladson Awako produced some glaring opportunities for Hearts of Oak but all attempts from the attackers went up begging.

The first half ended barren not without some much to envisage in the second as both teams played well to predict a good second half.

In the second half, as predicted, Aduana Stars took the lead on the 47th minute through Isaac Mintah when he connected to a well calculated cross by Sam Adams on the right flanks to beat Richmond Ayi to the near post.

Hearts of Oak amassed extra strength to push forward for the equalizer but Amankwah’s effort was saved by the bar on the 57th minute.

Aduana Stars meant business on the day when they nailed Hearts of Oak to the coffin with the second goal from some individual brilliance from the Isaac Mintah when he dilly-dallied Konadu Yiadom to finish home at the tail left corner of Richmond Ayi to make it 2-0.

Again, Gladson Awako and Linda Mtange combined to find a cushioning but the latter’s drive could not find the net.

Aduana Stars finished the game as victors and brightened their chances of annexing this season diadem as the move to 37 on points and Hearts of Oak dropping to the 4th position after 18 round of matches.
