Mohammed Salisu has taken a significant step in his recovery journey after returning to the training pitch for light workouts following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury sustained in January.

The Ghana international was seen taking part in individual recovery drills as he continues his rehabilitation programme, raising hopes of a full return to competitive football in the coming months. Although still in the early stages of his comeback, Salisu’s return to training is regarded as a major boost for both club and country.

The composed defender has reportedly set his sights firmly on representing Ghana national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the tournament expected to be a key target in his recovery timeline.

Known for his strength, composure on the ball and aerial dominance, Salisu has become an important figure for the Black Stars in recent years. His absence was deeply felt during Ghana’s recent fixtures, making his gradual return welcome news for supporters and the national team technical handlers.

Medical staff are expected to closely monitor his progress to ensure he regains full fitness before returning to competitive action.
