Stakeholders join hands with Sports Ministry on proposed Sports Policy

The Ministry of Youth and Sports held a stakeholders meeting at Mensvic Grand Hotel in Accra during the week to solicit for ideas and inputs on a new draft Sports Policy.

The Ministry is on a trajectory to restructure the sports industry in making it a business and financially viable venture for investors in whipping up appetite for investment in the local sports.

The right direction for the the sports industry has been an unknown one which called for the all important meeting to sort for ideas on how to put the industry on a right track.

The policy which has been on table since time immemorial will likely see it materialising to correlate with the high performances displayed by Ghanaian athletes at international games.

The policy will deepen governance through sports leadership amongst all sporting federations, develop skills of sports technical experts, enhance talent detection and development of sports infrastructure, building strategic alliance with stakeholders at the regional and continental level and overall increase participation of private sector investment and improving Coordination.
