Ghana international Ismail Abdul Ganiyu has joined African giants, TP Mazembe on a two-and-half year deal after an unsuccessful stint with Iraqi side Taraba SC.

The Congolese side, in a club statement, officially announced the capture of the player. ” The professional group of TPM has a new central defender. Ismail Abdul GANIYU (26) joined the Ravens by signing a two and a half year lease plus an optional year. The Ghanaian international will don the number 28.”

Ganiyu, 26, left Ghana with an indelible mark with Asante Kotoko leading the club to win her first league trophy after eight years in the 2021/22 season under the guidance of former coach Dr. Prosper Ogum.

With a year left in his Asante Kotoko deal, his contract was mutually terminated to make way for his desirous move abroad which landed him in Iraq.

The two-times Ghana Premier League winner saw his move short-lived in Iraq and has returned to Africa with TP Mazembe.

Tout Pouissant Mazembe, who are five times Africa Championship look set to returning to conquering Africa with the acquisition of the experienced Ghanaian who has featured for the Black Stars in previous years.

They are in Group D of the 2022/23 CAF Confederations Cup with Monastir, Young Africans from Tanzania and AS Bamako from Mali.
