Match Day 16 of the Ghana Premier League ended on Monday, February 06, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Games started on Saturday, February 04, 2023 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium where Tamale City destroyed Kotoku Royals by 3-0 goals coming from Sampson Eduku, Mathew Agama and Justice Mensah. Godfred Abban of Tamale City was adjudged the Man of the Match.

On Sunday at the Dun’s Park at Bibiani, Goldstars beat Karela United by 2-0 through Emmanuel Apau and Noah Martey in the first half. Farouk Adams, defender for Goldstars won the Man of the Match award.

League leaders Aduana Stars continued their impressive performance in the season by beating newcomers Nsoatreman FC 2-0 at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park at Dormaa Ahenkro through Gabriel Mensah and Richard Afriyie. Defender Stephen Anokye Badu won the Man of the Match award.

In Accra, Great Olympics drew 1-1 with Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium. Michael Osei scored on the 5th minutes for the homes before Collins Boah, in the dying embers of the got the equalizer for the Dawu side. Experienced Emmanuel Agyemang Badu swept away the Man of the Match award.

After a sweet start to the season, Berekum Chelsea have lost their willpower along the line but were on point against Bechem United over the weekend at the Golden City Park winning 1-0 kind courtesy Favien Kwasi Kongoza. He won the Man of the Match award.

In a goodbye game for captain Joseph Tetteh Zutah, Medeama SC defeated Samartex 1996 at the Akoon Park by 2-0 via Jonathan Sowah and Vincent Atingah Addae. Defender Nuruddeen Abdullai of Medeama SC went home the Man of the Match accolade.

Legon Cities recovered from a poor run of performance beating King Faisal by 3-1 at the El-Wak Park in Accra. Jonah Attuquaye, Felix Hammond and Nasiru Moro were on target for the Citizens whereas newly import Benjamin Bature got a consolation for the away side. Legon Cities defender Suleman Mohammed stole the show at the end of the game.

On Sunday evening in Tamale, Umar Abdul Manaf’s late strike grabbed all three points for Real Tamale United against Hearts of Oak. Midfielder Sadat Mohammed of RTU was the Man of the Match.

On Monday, Asante Kotoko got the biggest win of the week against Accra Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium dressing them to a 4-0 defeat through Rashid Nortey, Steven Dese Mukwala who scored twice and Enock Morrison.

The last round of matches for the 2022/23 season returns on Friday, February 10, 2023 to Monday, February 13, 2023 across all nine league centers.
