The Senya Basic Schools Athletics Competition is set to take place from 25th to 27th February at the Senya Senior High School Park in the Awutu-Senya West Constituency of the Central Region.

The three-day sporting event will bring together 24 basic schools from across the Senya area, comprising 11 public schools and 14 private institutions. The competition is expected to showcase emerging young athletic talent in a range of track and field events, while promoting unity, discipline and healthy rivalry among participating schools.

Pupils will compete in various categories including sprints, middle-distance races, relays, long jump, high jump and other field events, under the supervision of qualified physical education instructors and officials. Organisers say the event forms part of efforts to strengthen grassroots sports development and identify promising athletes for future district and regional competitions.

School authorities, parents and community members are anticipated to attend in large numbers to support the young athletes, as the competition aims not only to crown champions but also to encourage sportsmanship, teamwork and physical fitness among pupils.
