The Easter Draught Gala Competition, organized by the Faasee Draught Club, concluded with an exhilarating grand final on Easter Monday at La.

Nshia Pekoh emerged victorious by defeating Nyanyo Romario in a match characterized by tension, suspense, and excitement gameplay that kept the fans on edge.

Nshia’s path to the final was impressive, as he managed to overcome strong competitors like Cantona, Ayi Cross Member and King Safo.

The semifinal match against King Safo was particularly intense, marked by moments of heated arguments that led to temporary halts in the game, showcasing the high-stakes nature of the competition.

Meanwhile, Nyanyo Romario displayed exceptional skill in his journey to the final, edging out formidable opponents such as Asabri, Akwesi, and Boadi.

Boadi, in particular, made headlines by delivering a remarkable performance that caused a significant upset in the tournament when he eliminated the highly ranked Jomokay during the quarterfinals. Due to his outstanding display of talent and tenacity, Boadi was named the Player of the Tournament and was awarded a silver cup along with a cash prize, earning him the nickname “Sensational Boadi.”

Nshia Pekoh’s victory was celebrated with the presentation of a giant trophy and a cash prize, affirming his status as the grand champion.

Nyanyo Romario was also recognized for his excellent performance throughout the tournament and received a cash prize as the runner-up. King Safo was also awarded a bronze medal, having placed third.

In addition to the accolades for the finalists, the organizers made a special acknowledgment of Osa Asabri, honoring him for his achievement as the Player of the Tournament in the previous event.

This acknowledgment highlighted the Faasee Club’s appreciation for consistent excellence and contribution to the sport of draughts.
