The Bukom Boxing Gym team, together with a number of selected Black Bombers boxers, has departed Accra for France to participate in the ambitious “Road to France 2026” project — an exchange programme aimed at strengthening sporting ties between Ghana and France while preparing athletes for future international success.

The delegation is being led by renowned trainer King David Neequaye, popularly known as Harmattan Bird, alongside assistant coach and media officer Augustus Dodoo, widely known as Onelife. The team leaves Ghana full of confidence, pride and determination as they seek to make history on French soil.

Widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most respected boxing institutions, Bukom Boxing Gym carries the hopes of a nation with it. The initiative is expected to provide invaluable exposure, high-level training opportunities and international competition experience for the participating athletes.

The team has received strong backing from Base Pharmacy and Cartel Events, while the trip has been powered by the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), the National Sports Authority (NSA), the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment.

Speaking ahead of departure, Onelife described the journey as far more than a boxing trip.

“This represents more than boxing — it is a bold step towards excellence, unity and international recognition.”

As the team heads to France, they carry not only their gloves and ambitions, but also the unwavering support and pride of Ghana. The “Road to France 2026” project could mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Ghanaian boxing on the global stage.
