Karela United defender Abdul Rahman Yaya won the Man of the Match award in the team’s side victory against Asante Kotoko on Thursday evening at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

Karela United stole all three points in a controversial game that was won through a solitary goal from the spot by Samuel Atta Kumi on the hour mark.

Karela United needed all three points prior to the game to boost their chances of surviving the Ghana Premier League and had it after ninety minutes.

Abdul Rahman Yaya exhibited excellent display to keep his side from conceding against a side who had been a hard nut to crack in recent games at the Nzema Park.

He lasted the entire duration of the game to push his side up on the league table to 19 points after fifteen games scoring only nine goals throughout the season.

This is his season awards as the Most Valuable Player in this season’s League after winning it against Medeama SC in December 2022.

He joined Karela United from Division Two side Tema XI before the start of the 2022/23 season.
