Fabrizio Romano reports that Thomas Partey will depart Arsenal on a free transfer

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey’s time at Arsenal is drawing to a close, according to renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano.
The well-known Italian journalist revealed on his X account (formerly Twitter) that the 32-year-old is set to leave the Gunners at the end of June.
Romano’s update follows earlier reports of stalled negotiations between Arsenal and Partey’s representatives, suggesting that talks over a contract extension have not progressed favourably.
Despite delivering strong performances during the 2024–25 season, Partey’s five-year contract — signed following his move from Atlético Madrid — is set to expire on 30 June.
Romano further reported that Arsenal have identified Brentford midfielder Christian Nørgaard as a potential replacement, should Partey depart as expected.
Currently on holiday, the Black Stars’ deputy captain recently received the Footballer of the Year award for the third time at the Ghana Football Awards.
Partey registered four goals and three assists in 52 appearances across all competitions last season.
