Experienced Ghana Premier League forward Joseph Esso has completed a move to Malaysian top-flight side Negeri Sembilan FC ahead of the upcoming Super League season.

The 28-year-old makes the switch to Southeast Asia following a distinguished career in Ghana, where he featured prominently for Ebusua Dwarfs, Hearts of Oak, and Dreams FC.

Esso also enjoyed a stint in Algeria with MC Alger, scoring 11 goals in 66 appearances across all competitions before returning to Dreams FC. He played a pivotal role in the club’s fight against relegation last season, helping them climb to a sixth-place finish with 52 points.

His impressive return of 11 goals in 32 league appearances for the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup semi-finalists caught the attention of Negeri Sembilan FC, who have now secured his services for the forthcoming campaign.

Esso was also part of Ghana’s squad for the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations, where the Black Galaxies finished as runners-up after a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes and a 3-1 defeat on penalties to Senegal in the final.
