CAF direct some countries to play next AFCON Qualifiers in Morocco

The Confederation of Africa Football, CAF have confirmedthat some games in the next round of matches in the 2023 AFCON Qualifying will be played at Morocco due to inadequate facilities to host the matches.

CAF inspection team visited various countries to accertain their readiness in the impending next round of AFCON Qualifying games which return next month.

CAF were satisfied with most facilities the inspection visited especially in South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria and a host of other countries.

However, the football governing body of the continent believe there are a lot work that is to be done in other countries to meet the required standard to host CAF games.

Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau and Gambia are far behind with their preparation in terms of adequate facilities to host games in the qualifier.

The Federation has, therefore, directed that these countries next games against Togo, Nigeria and Mali respectively to be played in Morocco.

CAF will announce the exact stadium where these games will be played baring mind that other qualification games will be played by Morocco.

The next international break will fall on the 20th to 30th March, 2023.
