Guinean goalkeeper Mohamed Richard Camara has signed a contract extension with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, pending official confirmation from the club.

The 25-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors ahead of the 2023/24 season on a two-year deal and has since established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. He successfully saw off competition from the now-departed Frederick Asare to cement his place between the sticks.

Camara featured in 17 league matches last season, keeping an impressive eight clean sheets. He also played a pivotal role in Kotoko’s FA Cup triumph, guarding the posts during their 2-1 victory over lower-tier side Golden Kick FC in the final.

According to Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio, Camara has agreed to a new two-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.

Before joining Asante Kotoko, Camara had spells with AS Kaloum and SOAR Académie in the Guinea Premier League. He has also earned two caps for the Guinean senior national team.
