In a statement released on July 19, 2025, the minister described reaching the semi-finals as a “proud moment for all of us,” marking Ghana’s first appearance at this stage of the tournament since 2016.

Kofi Adams applauded the team’s discipline, composure, and outstanding team spirit throughout the competition. He acknowledged the challenges faced during the group stages but emphasized how the Black Queens’ determination and unity helped them gain momentum and overcome obstacles to secure their success. “This milestone showcases your discipline, calmness under pressure, and exceptional team spirit,” he said.

The minister also highlighted the positive impact the team’s achievement has had on national pride, noting that the Black Queens have rekindled hope and belief among Ghanaians. “The whole country is behind you. We’re already proud,” Adams affirmed, urging the players to maintain focus and unity as they prepare for their next match. “Keep your focus and unity as you head into the next game, knowing the nation supports you,” he added.

Reiterating the government’s support, Adams promised continued assistance to help the team stay prepared and confident on their journey. “Chase the gold. Ghana stands with you,” he concluded, inspiring strong emotions among supporters across the country. The government’s backing underscores the importance of the tournament to Ghana’s sporting future and female football development.

The Black Queens’ progression reflects their dedication, tactical improvements, and renewed belief as a team. With the finals now within reach, national excitement continues to build, with fans rallying behind the squad in hopes of bringing home the coveted WAFCON trophy for Ghana.
