UAE to host Egyptian Super Cup in May

The 2022/23 Egyptian Super Cup will be moved away from the North African country to the Asian Gulf of United Arab Emirates, UAE, to honour the encounter.

The game will be played at the Al-Ain’s Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

The 2021/22 Egyptian league winners, Zamalek will come face-to-face with the winner of the Egyptian Cup final between Pyramids and Al Ahly.

UAE will be welcoming the game for the sixth time, and a repeat of the last edition played in October 2022 when Al Ahly won by 2-0 against Zamalek.

The game will come off after the Egyptian Cup final is played later this month after its original date was postponed due to Al Ahly’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.

Al Ahly will be chasing for the Super Cup trophy for the 13th time whiles Zamalek will be hoping to win it for the fifth time in their history.
