Former President Akufo-Addo Congratulates Black Stars on World Cup Qualification

Former President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has extended his warm congratulations to the Black Stars following their successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a message shared shortly after Ghana’s decisive qualifying victory, the former President praised the players, technical team, and management for their determination, unity, and resilience throughout the campaign.

“Warm congratulations to our gallant Stars. You have once again lifted the flag of Ghana high,” President Akufo-Addo stated. “Your hard work and team spirit have brought joy to millions of Ghanaians, and the entire nation is proud of your achievement.”

He also commended the coaching staff led by Otto Addo for guiding the team through a challenging qualification process and urged the players to continue giving their best as they prepare for the global tournament to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Akufo-Addo further encouraged Ghanaians to rally behind the national team, emphasising that unity and patriotism are essential as the Black Stars represent the country on football’s biggest stage.

The qualification marks Ghana’s fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, rekindling national pride and optimism ahead of the 2026 tournament.
