Odartey Lamptey: “Chris Hughton can’t be influenced”

Odartey Lamptey, former Black Stars player, has thrown his support to newly appointed Black Stars coach Chris Hughton.

Chris Hughton, 68, was appointed by the Ghana Football Association on Sunday evening as the new Head Coach to replace departed Otto Addo.

The position had been vacant after the World Cup when Acting Head Coach Otto Addo left the job to concentrate on his work at Dortmund.

The former Newcastle United gaffer’s appointment has received a lot of reaction by former Ghanaian footballers who have poured their opinions on the coming of the new Head Coach.

Nii Odartey Lamptet believes Chris Hughton is the man for the job based on his aura and clouts he comes along with and that he would be difficult to manipulate in terms of decision making in the team.

“With his experience and pedigree, I think it will be difficult for someone to influence the job of Chris Hughton.” He told Asempa FM.

Chris Hughton will lead the Black Stars for the first time in March when Ghana takes on Angola in a double-headers encounter for the AFCON 2023 Quality in Cape Coast and Luanda.
