Resolution of impasse between AU, ANOCA, AASC

The feud that has entangled the activities of the Paralympics in Africa has amicably been solved to open way for Paralympic activities on the continent.

The impasse amongst the African Union, Association of National Olympic Committes (ANOCA) and Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC) was resolved in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa where the Headquarters of the African Union is located in Sunday, February 19, 2023.

President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was the brain behind the resolution who was supported by the Chairperson of the Africa Union, His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat.

The latter sat through the meeting until the entire duration to ensure all interested parties are satisfied and smoke peace pipe and further signed a negotiated agreement.

Ghana’s Honourable Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif signed the negotiation agreement on behalf of Ghana whereas H.E. Amb Minata Semate Cessouma, AUC Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development signed on behalf of African Union.

Representatives for ANOCA and AASC, Mr. Mustapha Berraf and Major General Nasser respectively signed for their institutions to end the impasse that has stood for close two years.

A new date for the 13th All Africa Games to be hosted by Ghana will be announced as the impasse deeply affected the preparation and organization of the games.
