Trésor Mputu retires from football

Trésor Mputu Mabi has announced his retirement from active football on Thursday, 09 February, 2023.

In a career that span over twenty-years played actively for only two clubs in DR Congo and later in Angola.

He had two stint with Tout Pouissant Mazembe from 2003 to 2014 before joining Angolan side Kabuscorp SC do Palanca where he had a short stay and returned to TP Mazembe in 2016.

He won two CAF Championship League and Supe Cup, one Confederations Cup, nine times Linafoot award, one Angola Super Cup.

He is the all time leading topscore of the CAF Interclub Competitions but share same number of goals with Mohammed Aboutrika in Champions League.

He led the DR Congo side to win the maiden edition of the CHAN Tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.

Some of the awards he won during his career are as follows;

~ 2007 IFFHS World’s Top Goal Scorer

~ 2007 CAF Champions League Top Scorer

~ 4x Linafoot Top Scorer
