The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has presented a symbolic pair of boxing gloves to Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah, Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), as a gesture of appreciation following a productive meeting held at the NSA headquarters. The act symbolises unity and cooperation between the two bodies in the lead-up to the upcoming Congress on 19 July.

The meeting was convened to assess the current state of boxing in Ghana and explore avenues to strengthen support for the sport across the country. Key stakeholders from both the GBA and NSA engaged in meaningful discussions aimed at deepening collaboration and advancing initiatives to promote and develop Ghanaian boxing.

In making the presentation, GBA leadership emphasised the importance of the partnership and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Director General’s unwavering commitment to the sport. Mr Ampofo-Ankrah’s continued support has played a crucial role in fostering growth and nurturing emerging talent nationwide.

The symbolic gesture also served as a mark of respect and acknowledgement of Mr Ampofo-Ankrah’s broader contributions to sports development in Ghana. His leadership at the NSA has been instrumental in promoting excellence across various sporting disciplines and continues to inspire collective efforts among sporting bodies to drive progress.
