Daniel Kwabena Awadzi, a rising star of Ghana’s National Youth Boxing Team (the Black Rocket), has added another remarkable feat to his profile after being formally inducted as a Professional Engineer by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Ghana.

The induction, held at a brief but dignified ceremony in Accra, recognised Awadzi’s competence, dedication, and adherence to the professional standards required by the engineering fraternity. Officials of the IET commended him for demonstrating exceptional discipline both in his academic pursuits and in national service through sport.

Awadzi, who has represented Ghana in several youth boxing championships, has been widely praised for successfully balancing the rigours of elite sporting training with the demands of engineering practice. His transition into the professional engineering ranks is seen as a testament to his hard work, resilience, and commitment to personal development.

Colleagues and supporters within both the engineering and sporting communities have lauded his achievement, describing him as a shining example to young Ghanaians who aspire to excel in more than one field. Many have also highlighted his story as proof that athletes can pursue professional careers alongside sports.

Awadzi expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to uphold the ethics of the profession while continuing to fly Ghana’s flag high in the boxing ring.
