The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Black Stars will take on the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica in an international friendly match on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, as final of preparatory game ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The fixture presents another valuable opportunity for Head Coach Carlos Queiroz and his technical team to assess the squad’s readiness ahead of football’s biggest tournament. The match is expected to provide a stern test for Ghana against a physically strong and technically gifted Jamaican side that continues to make strides on the international stage.

The encounter comes after Ghana’s friendly clash against Wales in Cardiff, allowing the Black Stars to gain further competitive experience against teams from different footballing cultures and styles. Such matches are crucial in fine-tuning tactics, strengthening team chemistry, and evaluating player performances before the World Cup.

Supporters will be eager to see key players such as Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in action as Ghana continues its preparations for the global showpiece.

Historically, meetings between Ghana and Jamaica have generated significant interest due to the shared heritage and strong cultural ties between the two nations. The upcoming fixture is therefore expected to attract considerable attention from football fans across Africa, the Caribbean and beyond.

With the World Cup fast approaching, the Black Stars will be aiming to build momentum, sharpen their competitive edge and strengthen their credentials ahead of the tournament, while Jamaica will also use the match to continue its own development on the international stage.
